Friday, September 16:


• 6pm - Registration and setup for "Cover the Walls and Tech Solutions Expo" Student, faculty, staff, and theatre professionals- SHOW US YOUR DESIGN WORK! Open invitation to exhibit work and share with fellow artists!

• 7pm -Dino’s Greek Dinner   join us for Greek cuisine from Dinos Greek Restaurant.  Yes, there will be vegetarian options!

• 8pm - Northern Boundary Membership Meeting.
- Special presentation of the Prague Quadrennial.  Amanda Wambach, our student scholarship recipient and Brian Bjorklund, of St. Olaf College, will share with us their experiences at the PQ.
- Introduction to sustainability in theatre data survey.

• 9:30pm - Bowling at Midway Bowl

Saturday, September 17:

• 9am - 10:30am - Choose one of the following four sessions:

An Introduction to Airbrush Makeup with Corrie Sorenson, Norcostco
Learn the basics of applying airbrush makeup!! Participants will learn the fundamentals of airbrush makeup application including the products, tools and equipment needed to operate an airbrush. Also learn how to troubleshoot, maintain and care for your equipment to keep it in perfect working order.  All supplies and equipment will be provided.  Class is limited to eight so Friday pre registration is required!

--An Introduction to Draping
This is a hands on workshop where you will drape up a basic sloper on either a man’s or woman’s dress form.  Basic sewing skills are required.  All supplies and equipment will be provided.  Class is limited so Friday pre registration is required!

The Blending of Scenic and Lighting Technologies with Joel Svendsen, Rosco
Join us as we examine the interplay of scenic and lighting choices. We will be looking at how new color changing LED technology affects scenic elements.

Are you planning a portfolio? Do you have a portfolio and want some one to take a look at it? Do you simply have general question about portfolios  and how to present them? This panel is here to help you answer any question wherever you are in you progress or portfolio development.

--Backstage Tour of Children’s Theatre which begin at 11am

• Noon-ish LUNCH  on your own or pre-ordered Jimmy Johns will be delivered to Hamline Theatre at 12:30

         -- View and vote on CTW and Tech
             Solutions presentations

• 1:15 to 3:30pm   Choose one of the following four sessions:

-- Field Trip to Ruehling Associates, Inc(Vans and cars depart for this offsite session)
- The showroom will be configured to showcase the convergence of lighting, video and scenic design.
View a demonstration of media servers driving several LED digital scenery products including curtains, tubes and tiles.  Also see media servers driving digital lighting products doing seamless edge-blending projection, laser-style aerial effects and interactive projection with live cameras and video sources.  Projection effects will be integrated with automated scenery to demonstrate the interaction between scenic and video design elements.
- Finally we will offer a sampling of intelligent LED fixtures and automated lights being controlled along with the digital products from a variety of controllers including traditional lighting consoles, SMPTE time-code and
sound to light software.
- We will be prepared to discuss design strategies and answer questions on the convergence of lighting, video and scenic design.

-- Dental Prosthetics with Bill Wallace of Hamline University Theatre
Well crafted dental prosthetics can assist the actor in creating a wide range of characters. This workshop focuses on creating useful character prosthetics. We will cover sculpting techniques, materials, casting procedures and safety concerns that must be observed when working with advanced materials. Participants will be doing a dental cast on Friday (before dinner). This will provide you with a model to work with during the Saturday session. Session is limited to 12 people so preregistration Friday evening is required.

-- An Introduction to IATSE Local 13
A discussion with IATSE representation.  The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 13 is the longest standing arts related organization in the Twin Cities metro area.  Chartered in January of 1894, I.A.T.S.E. Local 13 has proudly represented the interests of the men and women working behind the scenes of area theatres for over 114 years.  Bring your questions for this informative session.
